3. Mini Stuffed Animals

Soft toys are always exciting for children, and creating one from fabric is a rewarding project. Kids can start with simple patterns such as a small stuffed cat, bear, or fish.

They can cut two identical shapes from fabric, stitch around the edges, and leave an opening to fill with stuffing. Once filled, the opening can be sewn shut. Felt or fabric scraps can be used for facial features or details.

Stuffed animals help children learn about sewing curves and give them a cuddly toy they made themselves.
